#379. Two stamped and tinted brass buttons in mother/daughter sizes of a potted plant on a wall. Or is this a ghost/love story? The consigner says they see this as the story of “Pot of Basil" from Keet's poem “Isabella." Isabella's lover is killed and comes to her in a dream revealing where his body is buried. She digs it up, pots it under a basil plant that she then obsesses over it. Note edge wear. NBS Small - Large ( 11/16" - 1 3/8")
